Mr. Willie Arthur Gray, a resident of Montgomery, Alabama departed this life on July 20, 2023. He was born January 21, 1941 to the late Nathaniel Gray and Mae Frances Sharp Gray in Snodoun, Alabama. Preceding him in death were his son Willie A. Gray, Jr., three brothers, Nathaniel Gray, Jr., Lee B. Gray and Jesse James Gray, two sisters, Lottie Mae Eldridge and Bertha Scott. Will was educated in the Montgomery County School System. He entered the workforce at an early age. He later moved from Alabama to Cleveland Ohio where he found full time employment with Cleveland Hangers. He later retired from the company. He met and married Velma Tucker of Ramer, Al. To their union five children were added to his family. After many years as a resident of Ohio, he later relocated back to his home state Alabama. Declining health issues prevented him from participating in his favorite pastime, fishing. He also loved to travel. He was a private, quiet and peaceful man. He was a loyal family man and friend. The memories he left will be forever cherished in our hearts. He is survived by three sons, Gregory A.(Sharon), Alex and Demetrius Gray, all of Cleveland, Ohio, one daughter Debbie Gray also of Cleveland, Ohio; three brothers, John Gray of Cleveland, Ohio, Samuel and Fred Gray of Montgomery, Alabama; three sisters, Mary (Eddie) Dunlap, Cleveland, Ohio, Betty Crawford, Dallas, Texas, Daisie Dunn, Montgomery, Alabama, Sister-in-laws Shirley Gray and Ethel Gray, Montgomery, Alabama, seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, a special devoted niece Lois Gray, Hope Hull, Alabama, special nephew Maurice Gray, Cleveland, Oh., special great niece and nephew, Jonah and Jordan Eldridge, Hope Hull, Alabama; special friend Jimmie Ringstaff of Montgomery Al., a host of other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 - 11:00am at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama, 36104
