Willie Felder Obituary

Willie Felder was born September 21, 1941 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Will & Addie Lee Felder. He was loved by many and was affectionately known as “Zeke.”

Brother Felder joined St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church at a very early age and always had a desire to serve the church. Before returning in his later years to service at St. Stephens, he led a full and productive life.

Brother Felder served several years in the United States Army. After his time in the armed forces, he spent a number of years in Detroit, MI where he was later employed by General Motors Corporation. While in Detroit he married Mae Rosie Felder and together raised their children: Yvette Foster of Augusta, GA, Debra Hubbard and Cassandra Felder (deceased) of Detroit, MI. He also had a son, Quincey Desmond of Detroit.

When he retired from General Motors, he returned home to Montgomery and to his call to serve at St. Stephens. He immediately began to work in the church with zeal and enthusiasm. Brother Felder served as the Chairman of the Trustee Board. He later became part of the Male Chorus, which was a source of great joy and excitement for him. After his return to Montgomery, he later married Gloria Felder, which added Rozetha Franklin Williams (deceased) and Seneca Shine to the family.

In addition to his devoted children and his wife, Brother Felder leaves behind to cherish his memory: one sister, Mrs. Julia Henderson Barksdale of Detroit, MI; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. He departed this life on September 25, 2021.  Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 09, 2021 at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, 1609 Withers Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104
