William Singleton, III Obituary

William Singleton III, affectionately known as “Bimbo”, was born on March 7, 1951, to William Singleton II and Bernice King-Singleton. He was preceded in death by his loving parents and cherished younger brothers: Jeffrey Singleton, Robert Singleton, and Greg Duncombe (Phyllis). On August 10, 2024, William peacefully passed away, surrounded by his beloved family who shared touching prayers and heartfelt laughter.

Bimbo lived a life brimming with passion, dedication, and adventure. He received his education from the Montgomery Public School System and furthered his studies at Alabama State University and Trenholm State Community College, guided by the wisdom of his father. His career was marked by service to his country in the U.S. Army and a longstanding role as an electrician with Dixie Electric. Upon retiring, he continued his craft independently. His warm, humorous, and sharp personality left an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. William found immense joy in fishing, training animals, and music, especially when shared with his loved ones.

He leaves behind five devoted children: Rodney Singleton, Derrick Singleton, Tamala Avery, Teri Singleton, and De’Angela Terrell; five loving sisters: Marsha Rayon, Sandra Kay Coleman, Joycelyn Singleton, Lisa Singleton-Pitchford, and Phyllis Duncombe; ten adoring grandchildren, eight precious great-grandchildren, and a multitude of beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

William’s legacy of strength, love, and compassion will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
