Steven "Steve" Norris Obituary

Steven E. (Steve) Norris, 53 of Marbury, Alabama joined our Lord and Savior on Monday, August 25, 2025.  He was born on October 08, 1971 in Birmingham, Alabama.  He grew up on his family farm in Elmore, Alabama where his love of equipment began.  He started operating tractors at a very young age and worked his way up to operating numerous types of heavy equipment.  He was very passionate about his work and was proud to show off his work to his loved ones.  He would always say "I may not know much, but I do know dirt".  He was one of the most knowledgeable persons there was.  He also loved going on cruises and riding his Harleys on short and long trips.  He also would modify his equipment and tools to be more functional for him.  He loved creating new things to allow him to work more efficiently.

Steve loved passionately.  He cared deeply for his wife and dogs.  He held himself to a very high standard at work and also helped everyone who needed it.  His coworkers and neighbors were like family to him and he deeply loved him Mom.  He was very head strong and was sure to let everyone know what he thought, good or bad.  He kept up with his politics and knew all of the political names and parties.  He also loved his wife with his entire heart and was sure to express that daily.  Everyone that knew him said that he would never get married, but when he met the love of his life, it was obvious that they were wrong because they were married for almost 24 years.  Though he never had children, all of his dogs were loved and treated as his children.

He is survived by his loving wife, Cynthia (Cindy) McFeely Norris, his mother, Linda R. Mincey, his mother in law, Carolyn (Jake) McFeely, his brothers in law, Will McFeely, Justin (Ashley) McClarran, Nathan (Morgan) Bowman, his sister in law, Sherry McFeely, his nieces, Delilah, Teagan and River, his nephews Kai and Noah, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, J. Lamar Norris and his grandparents, Bill and Nedra Ray and James and Hursie Norris and numerous loving dogs.

We will have a Celebration of Life honoring Steve Norris on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 3:30 pm.  It will be held at our land in Elmore.  There is no address, so you can enter Harris Road and Mercer Road in Elmore, AL into your GPS or Maps.  We will have signs posted there.  Steve was a very patriotic man.  We are asking you to wear a red, white or blue shirt (if you have it) along with jeans.  We will be in a field, so wear something comfortable and bring a lawn chair if you wish to sit.  Steve was always himself in his everyday clothes and wouldn't want anyone to dress up for him.  All of you are our family and are invited to dinner at Marbury Water in Marbury, AL following  the Celebration.  You will also be able to enjoy a video of pictures there as well.

Colossians 3:14  "But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection".

As we extend our deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time, we would also like to express our utmost gratitude to you for entrusting us with your loved one. Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services.
