Stephanie Stough Stone, a lifetime resident of Montgomery, died January 19, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, Selman Warner Stough, stepfather, Dan Wilson, Jr., brothers, Daniel Clay Wilson, and The Reverend Mark Howard Wilson, and uncle, The Rt. Rev. Furman C. Stough (Margaret). She is survived by her son, Bruce Braxton Stone, Jr. (Nora), mother, Martine Tankersley Wilson, sister, Summer Stough, brother John Wilkinson Wilson (Tina), sisters in law, Beth Wiley Wilson and Nancy Wilson Parks, aunt, Diane Bloomquist (Bruce) and Bruce Braxton Stone, Sr. Survivors also include the following nieces and nephews: Julia Bradford Horn, Charles Jonathan Kettler Horn, Jr., Daniel Clay Wilson (Meg), Ellen Wilson Rogers (William), Mark Howard Wilson (Terri), Mary Elizabeth Wilson, Mary Katherine Wilson (Chad), and Ann Wilson Aman. She had several great nieces and nephews whom she adored and a special cousin, Leslie Stough Lynch. Stephanie, or “Stough” as she was known to loved ones, was a graduate of Jefferson Davis High School and The University of Alabama where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She loved Alabama football and “All things Kappa.” She was a loyal friend and loved others “BIG!” She was a life-long member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, where she served on the altar guild. Stephanie loved her job at Alabama Cancer Care. She cared deeply for the patients and always had a kind word as she greeted them at the reception desk.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church on Friday, January 27, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. followed by interment of ashes in the columbarium. Family and friends are invited to a reception in the parish hall afterward. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church or Venmo @KKG_Memorial_for_Stough.
