Sidney Ronald (Ronnie) Sexton passed away on November 19, 2025 at his Lake Martin home after an extended illness surrounded by loved ones. It was just where he would have wanted to be other than on his pontoon boat. He is likely remembered by many from leading Sexton Tires for 35 years.
Ronnie was a “people” person! He placed their needs above his own with no regard for their ability to return the favor. His love for the young people of Montgomery was best illustrated by his years of coaching baseball at the Southeastern League where he coached ages 8 through 16. He taught life skills, often times in unique fashion. He was a competitor to the very end but he embraced his competitors with much respect. He will be greatly missed. They say that he who leaves this life with the most friends wins! In that case…Ronnie WON!
Ronnie was born in Greenville Alabama to General Lee and Doris Dean Sexton, both longtime residents of Greenville Alabama. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Glenda Sexton.
He is survived by his loving wife Bonnie, daughter Brooke Sayers, and son Ryan Sexton. Stepchildren Granger Shook and Penton Shook. Siblings Jimmy Sexton (Sheila), Peggy Goodson, Doris Simonds, and Charles (Mary) Sexton. His grandchildren that were his heart, Carter Sayers, Sarah Sayers, Sidney Wells Sexton, and Ann Davis Sexton. Along with many other bonus grands and nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 14, 2025, 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Sinclair's East, 7847 Vaughn Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36116 and all donations came be made to Children’s Harbor at Lake Martin in his memory.
