Shachaniya "Shay" Nunnelly

Shachanyia (Shay) Alexandria Glenn Nunnelly was called home by her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 9, 2023.  Shay was born May 4, 1988 and was a resident of Montgomery, AL. She was the devoted wife of Johnathan Nunnelly and loving mother of five children: Nevaeh (13), Elijah (12), Paisley (7), Skylar (4) and Zoey (1 ½). Shay loved reading her Bible and family devotions.  She especially enjoyed cheering on her children at sporting events, family vacations, and being together as a family. Shay was a devout Christian and spread the love of Christ to those around her.  She never tired of doing for others.

Shay was a 2006 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and the dental assistance program at Fortis College.  She also graduated with a degree in Dental Hygiene from UAB School of Dentistry.  She was employed as a dental hygienist at Zelda Court Dental Care and was dearly loved by her co-workers and patients.    

Shay is survived by her mother, Mrs. Cassandra Glenn Langdon, devoted step-father, Amos Langdon of Montgomery, bonus father, Dereck Miller of Selma, sisters, Ambassadoria (Kenny) McGhee of Millbrook, Mecheun (Tez) and Quesheba (Charmin) of Montgomery and brother Quinshon Glenn also of Montgomery, half-sisters LaTarra McConnell of Birmingham, Jasmine McConnell of Selma, Aleexia McConnell of Montgomery, half-brothers Cory Clay of Montgomery, Dereck Clay of Virginia and great aunt, Rose Pope of Detroit, .Other survivors include her mother and father-in-law, Janice and Van Nunnelly and brother-in-law, Benjamin Nunnelly of Montgomery and a host of aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 - 1:00pm at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3604 Pleasant Ridge Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109, her body will be in the church at 12:00pm.  Burial will follow in Greenwood Serenity Gardens, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36109.  Visitation will be Sunday, February 19, 2023 1pm to 5pm at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama, 36104.
