Sarah Beverly Montgomery

Montgomery, Sarah Beverly, born September 6, 1931, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, died peacefully, following extended illnesses, on Sunday, June 27, 2021, at her home in Montgomery  A private cremation was performed.  A graveside interment service at Greenwood Cemetery will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 2, 2021.  Beverly was predeceased by her parents, C. R. Ballard & Sammye Powell Ballard; and by her two brothers, Charles Ray Ballard and Marion Ballard.  She was educated in Montgomery public schools and acquired a college master’s degree in music   Beverly worked for a number of years as a bookkeeper in a family-owned local business.  She is survived by a cousin, Dixie Crooks (Barry), of Montgomery, Alabama.   Warmest thanks and gratitude are extended to longtime loyal and faithful caregiver, Gloria J. Sankey; and as well to additional recent caregivers Angelique Sankey Childrey, Carla McCollum, Lena Williams, and Diane Thomas.  Sincere thanks are also made to the employees of Amedisys Hospice who provided assistance and comfort for Beverly in her final days.
