Sandra McCall Bell Obituary

McCall Bell, Sandra Marshelle  affectionately known as  “Teenager” to family. The youngest child born to the late Sergeant First Class James McCall and Loretta Howard McCall entered into this world on August 24, 1957, in Enterprise AL.

 She was raised in the church and confessed her love for Christ as a child at Mount Zion A.M.E. Zion Church, Montgomery AL. Sandra Bell, a 1975 graduate of Saint Jude Educational Institute in Montgomery AL, was a vibrant member of her community. During her high school years, she was a dedicated St. Jude Pirate cheerleader.  She furthered her education at Clark College in Atlanta GA and later attended Alabama State University.  She furthered her education at Patterson Cosmetology School and dedicated approximately 30 years to the family business as a hairstylist, where she became renowned as the “Queen of short styles.”  

Beyond her professional life, Sandra was known for her infectious smile and big heart. She loved cooking, bottle crafting, reading, dancing, and engaging in family activities.  She was also involved in modeling with KEEP Productions and was known for always lending a hand to help others. 

 She became caregiver of her mother until her home going. After getting married on June 12, 2022 to Darryl Bell and moving to Atlanta GA, she was the caregiver of her great-nephew Ayden.  

 She leaves her memories to be cherished by: her beloved husband Darryl Bell, her sister, Bonnie (Cedric) Thomas, two nieces, Ariuna (Marcus) Berg and Tia Jackson; three great nephews, Amari Berg and Karter Jackson, Ayden Berg; three uncles, Prince (Cherry) Howard, Loyd (Lucille) Howard, Jerry (Caldonia) Howard; uncle Tony Baine, loving cousins, Anthony, Andre, Greta, Margie, Yolanda, Cedric, Michael, Gia, Holly, Breuna, Tony, Marti, Alana, Brandy; and a host of cousins, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her father James McCall; her mother Loretta McCall, her aunt Elnora Baine, her aunt Jerelyn Sharpe; her uncles, Timothy Howard, Eddie Louis Howard and William Howard, and her niece Kennedi Jackson.

 In lieu of flowers, the family asks contributions be made to help develop exhibits at the Mount Zion Memorial Annex Museum https://www.mountzionamezion.org.

Memorial service will be held Friday, February 20, 2026 ~ 11:00am at New Life Church of God in Christ, 5000 Patterson Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36116.
