Roy Edward "Eddie" Moody, known for his warm heart and dedication to others, went to Heaven to be with God on March 9th, 2024. He was born on December 30, 1963. Eddie is survived by his siblings Angela (Glenn) Rowe, Jack (Terri) Moody, Susan (Bob) Alred, and Joseph Moody, along with his daughters Tyler and Taylor Moody. He was preceded in death by his father Jack E. Moody and his mother Josephine G. Moody.
A dedicated and honorable man, Eddie graduated from Lanier High School in 1982 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he served as a Staff Sergeant with the Military Police. His commitment to service extended beyond his military duties, as he spent many years working with Rhodes Furniture, where he cherished the opportunity to connect with people and brighten their days. Eddie found solace and community as a member of Whitfield Memorial Church for many years. His faith was a guiding light throughout his life, shaping his compassion and kindness towards others.
Eddie had a profound love for animals, particularly his three dogs, whom he adored like family. He was a champion for their well-being and tirelessly advocated for their care and protection.
Eddie's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness, service, and love for animals will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 15th, 2024, at 1:15 pm at the Alabama National Cemetery, located at 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Eddie's honor to the Montgomery Humane Society, reflecting his lifelong love and advocacy for animals.
