Mr. Robert “Bob” Axel Nyberg, 78, of Montgomery, Alabama was welcomed to the Kingdom of Heaven on February 4, 2025. Son of the late Robert Kel and Portia Rushing Nyberg, Bob was born in Paducah, Kentucky on December 5, 1946. He enjoyed a long 42-year career with the Alabama Department of Public Health until his retirement. He was most importantly a loving father and grandfather (Paw Paw). After retirement, he loved being with his grandchildren, buying cars, and trying to fix things with random screws, duct tape, and glue.
He is survived by his sons Kel Nyberg (Brooke) and Nick Nyberg (Amanda), stepsons Chad and Jake Hicks, nine grandchildren, Bailey Thompson (Thomas), Evan, Tyler, Bronner, Lyra, Brayden, Charlie, Emma, and Kate, former spouses Alice Stafford and Kay Nunnery, and his wonderful cousins from across the country. Also special to Bob was the great staff of John Knox at Arrowhead Assisted Living Facility as they were also considered his family. Hugs, handshaking, and laughs with family and friends will be at 1:00pm on February 22, 2025, at Lakeview Baptist Church Montgomery, AL with a celebration service immediately following at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers make a memorial donation to the charity of your choice. Our dad would love it!
As we extend our deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time, we would also like to express our upmost gratitude to you for entrusting us with your loved one. Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services.
