Ray Glenn

Ray Glenn “Maine” was born December 15, 1962, to the late Mr. George Glenn Sr. and Mrs. Nancy Lloyd Glenn. He lost his battle with cancer on the evening of July 19th surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his brothers Robert Glenn “Pickhandle” and George Glenn Jr. “Rudy Dudy”. His uncles Roosevelt Daniels, Hal Lloyd and Willie James Glenn. His aunts Julia Mae Ship, Mary Lee Sanford, Thelma Perryman, Rudy Lloyd and Eliza Lloyd Patterson. He had a love of fishing, playing cards and dominos and cooking with “love”. During his earlier years, Ray worked at the Montgomery Country Club for 12 years. Shortly after, he went to work at Tulley Andrews Cleaners where he met his wife, Tammie Barnes. Up until his decline in health, Ray worked at Alabama State University where enjoyed cooking with “love” for the students and staff.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Tammie Barnes Glenn. His son Raytavious Howard. His extended sons; Brandon Grey, Wayne Barnes and Darnell Barnes. Two grandchildren; Raytavious Howard Jr. and Chamyia Grant. His loving brothers; James Glenn, Anthony Glenn and Earnest (Lashanna) Carter. His devoted sisters and caretaker Hattie G. Sanders and Barbara (Ray) Humphrey. His aunt Dorothy Lloyd. A host of nieces, nephew's cousins and one great-great niece. A special devoted niece Nancian (Alijua) Scarver. A special thanks to Patrice Wheeler. 

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 - 1:00pm at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104.  Visitation will be Friday, July 28, 2023, 8am to 7pm at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama.
