Paul Vincent was born on October 01,1945 in Montgomery Alabama where he lived all his life.  He graduated from Huntingdon College and received his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama.  He devoted his professional life working to improve conditions in which families, children and communities can be successful, especially those impacted by the foster care and child welfare system.   He was instrumental in leading the creation of one of the most progressive, nationally recognized child welfare reform efforts known as “RC”.

 He began his career at the Montgomery County Department of Human Resources and, after moving to the state office, served as Director of the State’s Child Support Program.  He subsequently became Director of Alabama’s Child Welfare program, during which time he was named the nation’s most outstanding child welfare administrator.  After retirement from state service, he formed the Child Welfare Policy and Practice Group which became nationally known for its work in helping communities and states improve the delivery of child welfare services.  In 2019 Paul was inducted into the Alabama Social Work Hall of Fame.

 He is survived by his wife Kathy, son Adam and his wife Kadie, his brother Everitt (Brenda), his beloved redbone coonhound Cooper and a community of friends, neighbors, and colleagues across the country who love and cherish his memory.

A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in the Ligon Chapel in Flowers Hall, Huntingdon College, Montgomery Alabama.
