Paul William Northington, 79, of Deatsville, passed away peacefully at home on December 30, 2024. He was born on September 2, 1945, in Edmonton Alberta, Canada to Joe and Rosalinda Northington, while they were stationed there during their military service.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Diane Northington; his daughters, Rhonda Kay Flournoy (James) and Ashlyn Northington; his grandson, Nathan Flournoy (Samantha); two great-grandsons, Brayden and Lennox; his brother, Ralph Northington (Sandra); his sister, Barbara Tidwell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
After more than 40 years of service, Paul retired from International Paper and the Army National Guard due to health challenges. As a member of the Army National Guard Pistol Team, he was known for his exceptional marksmanship.
Paul will be remembered as a loving husband, father, “Papa,” and “Uncle Paul.” His passion for Alabama football, hunting, vegetable gardening, and animals was unmatched. A man of integrity and dedication, he instilled these values in his family, leaving a legacy of hard work and love.
Honoring Paul’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held. The family plans to hold a private remembrance at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the Autauga County Humane Society.
