Unfortunately, it is our sad duty to announce the untimely death of Ms. Nadiya Perkins who passed away Wednesday, March 04, 2026 in Huntsville, AL.
Nadiya Dayana Elise Perkins was born on September 9, 2006, in Opelika, Alabama to Michelle Belfield and Darryl Perkins. She was the baby of four siblings. Four years later she became the daughter of Winfred (Joe) Jackson, and gained two other siblings.
Nadiya was dedicated to the Lord as a baby at The Tuskegee Christian Center. She later became a member of the Love Center Church where she gave her life to Christ and was baptized as a young child. She served on the Praise Team and on the Youth Dance Team. She loved to sing and dance. Later on, Nadiya became a member of True Divine Baptist Church.
Nadiya grew up in Montgomery, Alabama where she attended Dozier Elementary, Dannelly Elementary, Brewbaker Middle, and Carver High School. She was afforded the opportunity to dance with the Jefferson Davis Marching Band alongside her sisters. As Nadiya grew, her love for singing and dancing continued. In Middle School, she sang with the Brewbaker Choir and she found a new love, cheer. Nadiya cheered with the Brewbaker Cougars and in High School she cheered with the Carver Wolverines and sang with the Concert Choir.
Nadi P was a hard worker and believed in forging her own path. She didn't mind receiving help, but she wanted to make her own way. Nadiya has worked at Cava, Chipotle, and DoorDash in Montgomery, Al. Prior to going to Huntsville, Nadiya made sure she got a job at Lux Bru and then went on to work at Voogie Vegan, and Cheddars.
Nadiya also believed in obtaining a good education. She always strived to do her best academically and was recognized for her efforts. Nadiya obtained the Phenomenal Young Scholar Award from the Tuskegee United Women's League, Inc. in her Senior year of High School, and was nominated to The National Society of Leadership and Success at Alabama A&M University her Freshman year. Nadiya graduated from G.W. Carver High School on May 20, 2025, and was accepted to Alabama A&M University where she was pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice.
Nadiya was a hard working ball of joy, goofiness, silliness, laughter, wisdom, and love, which she shared with her friends, family, and anyone she met as often as she could. She loved people and always looked for the good in others. Nadiya was a peacemaker. She often shared her words of wisdom with friends and family to help them navigate through tough situations.
Nadiya was called into the arms of the Lord on March 4, 2026.
Nadiya leaves to cherish her memory her parents Michelle and Joe Jackson, Darryl Perkins, six siblings: Tyree and Josilyn Belfield, Lyric and Zariya Perkins, Carnell and Elijah Jackson, nephew: Messiah Belfield Williams, Grandparents: Margaret Belfield, Malinda Clayton, Cheryl Moore, Aunts: Kim Richard, Argenta (Matthew) Lucas, Veronica (Demarlo) Smith, Misti-Dawn Curry, Kelley Richard, Angel (Russ) Caldwell, Renita, Yolanda, and Shaneiya Jackson, LaMarcia Perkins, Uncles: Ryan Jackson, Dentry Perkins, and a host of family members, loved ones, and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026 - 11:00am at True Divine Baptist Church, 4601 Troy Highway, Montgomery, AL 36116. Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026 - 8:30am to 6:00pm, at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, AL 36104.
