Michael Douglas Herring

Michael Douglas Herring passed away at the age of 73 on July 06, 2025 in Montgomery, AL.  He was born on December 22, 1951, in Wichita Falls, TX to parents Ed and Ann Herring. Mike was a 1970 graduate of Ryder High School.

In 1972, he married the love of his life, Debbi, in Smyrna, Georgia. Together, they had three daughters, all born in Wichita Falls.

In 1987, the family relocated to Smyrna. Mike was a hardworking man who spent much of his life workings as a plumber and exterminator.

He was known for his sense of humor and loved taking his daughters to wrestling matches. More than anything, he was a kind, caring man devoted to his family.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Ann, and his brother-in-law, Milton Johnson.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Debbi; his daughters, Chondra Cooper and her husband Brad of Wichita Falls, Deidre Cole and her husband John of Pike Road, Alabama, and Annedra Herring of Smyrna, Georgia; his sister Cindy Johnson of Wichita Falls; sister-in-law, Conni Cole and husband Doug of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren, Cooper and Hannah Cole of Pike Road, Alabama; and special bonus grandchildren who he loved as his own, Lainie Wilkerson and husband Michael of Waurika, OK and Dewey Cooper of Wichita Falls; and numerous nieces and nephews.
