Mr. Melvin Lee Jenkins was born July 27, 1961, to the late Essie Mae Jenkins and the late Sergeant Charlie Jenkins Sr. Melvin departed his life of Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Jackson Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and four siblings, Gloria Anthony, Jerome, and Jimmie Jenkins, grandmother, grandfather, and 14 aunts and uncle.
Melvin survived by his finance’ Barbara McGill, children ShaQuondra McGill, Derek McGill, Deandre McGill, Melvin Oliver, and Antonio Oliver all of Montgomery, AL; two sisters: Debra Brooks and Carolyn (Marcus) Williams; one brother; Charlie (Cherry) Jenkins, Charleston, SC; one aunt: Bobbie (Randy) Kiah; Montgomery, AL; two uncles: Nathan Brooks, David (Betty) Brooks, all of Montgomery, AL. Melvin was a grandfather of 3 grandchildren, Tiara Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell Jr. and Jordan Brown; eight nieces and nephews; Shandreka Brooks, Javell Brooks, Jasmine Brooks, Jerome Alex Jenkins, Chambria Jenkins, Nichols Jenkins, Michelle Jenkins, Anthony Jenkins, and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
