WEEMS, Loretta A. a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 in a local hospital. Born on November 21, 1951, in St. Petersburg, Florida, to Theo and Ethel Mae Moultrie, Loretta A. Weems’ life was one of compassion, dedication, and enduring love. Her journey carried her from Florida to Montgomery, Alabama, where she built both her home and her legacy.
Guided by a heart for service, Loretta pursued her calling in healthcare, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Troy University. She devoted her career to caring for others with dignity and grace, retiring from the Veterans Affairs Hospital in 2015 after years of tireless service to those who served our nation.
Her proudest role, however, was not found in her profession but in her family. Loretta was the loving mother of two sons, LaGarian A. Weems and LaDarius L. Weems, who carry forward her wisdom and strength. She was also the cherished grandmother of JaDarian Weems, Ella Jolie Dorelus-Weems, Elijah Weems, and Ezra Weems, who knew her not only as a guiding presence but also as a source of endless love and joy.
Loretta’s life was a reflection of quiet strength, faith, and care. Her legacy lives on in the hearts she touched, the family she nurtured, and the countless lives she served throughout her nursing career.
Though she has departed this earthly home, Loretta’s spirit continues to shine brightly through her children, grandchildren, and all who were blessed to know her. Her story is one of devotion, perseverance, and the kind of love that lingers long after words fall silent
A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 21, 2025 - 11:00am at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104.
