Linda Carole Henry (“Lyn”), aged 78, resident of Montgomery, Alabama, was born on August 9, 1944, in Shelton, Connecticut and passed away on April 29, 2023, in the Jackson Hospital CVICU. She was a Captain in the Army Nurse Corp, served in Vietnam and was also in the National Guard. She worked as an RN in several fields when she retired from the military. She worked several years as the head nurse for an OB/GYN in Bethesda, Maryland, before relocating to Birmingham, Alabama with her daughter in 1992. From there, she moved on to Orthopedics and worked as a Home Health Care nurse before leaving to take care of her aging parents in Montgomery. Even though she was no longer officially employed in the medical industry, she never really retired–once a nurse, always a nurse! Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Ret. SGM, Harry A. Henry & Ida B., and her younger brother, James (“Jeino”). She leaves behind her only daughter, Christina “Christie” Henry (Wes Stephens), in addition to her “son,” Scott Young. She also leaves behind her younger sister, KayeAnne J. Henry, 2 nephews, Damien & Nick Bennati, several FLA cousins and many loved ones. The family would like to thank the Jackson Hospital CVICU staff, who did a wonderful job in caring for her and helping us through this difficult time. They knew & loved just how much she was still a nurse at heart! Linda will be cremated, per her wishes, by Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 9:00 AM. Lyn was a wonderful and amazing person who will be missed beyond words. I love you, Mom, always and forever…Christabelle-Bob
