Mr. Leonard Keith Scales was born on August 22, 1973, to the late Annie M. Scales and Jason Scales in Las Vegas, NV. He departed this life on Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Montgomery, AL. He was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Annie B. Thomas-Jarrett, his grandfather, John H. Jarrett Sr., and several uncles and aunts.
After high school, Keith joined the military, serving in the Navy for many years.
He enjoyed being around his family and enjoyed entertaining them at his home. He had a kind and generous spirit and will be missed by many.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his dad, Jason (Cassandra) Scales, North Carolina; a brother, Jason Kareem Scales, Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Hazel Scales, North Carolina. Five aunts: Lillie Prevo, Chowchilla, Calif., Fran (“J.P.”) Potts, Montgomery, Ala., Eliza (Dood) Johnson, New Orleans, La., Diane Beaufort, Las Cruces, New Mex., and Dorothy J. Jarrett, Washington, DC.; two uncles: John H. (Carmen) Jarrett, Jr., California City, Calif., and Arthur L. (Francine) Jarrett, Montgomery, Ala.; a grand aunt, Helen Molton, Montgomery, Ala, a special niece, Annie M. Scales, Las Vegas, Nev. A nephew, Rafael, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
