Kenneth "Kenny" Glenn Lamar, Sr.

Kenneth Glenn Lamar, Sr. ("Kenny") peacefully departed this life on June 15, 2026, at the age of 73 in the comfort of his Wetumpka, Alabama home.

Born on October 22, 1952, Kenneth Glenn Lamar, Sr. was the beloved son of Earl C. Lamar and Irna M. Lamar. Known affectionately to family and friends as

"Kenny," he lived a life marked by strength, resilience, love for family, and a straightforward appreciation for life's simple blessings,

Kenneth was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose greatest joy came from the relationships he shared with those he loved. He valued family above all else and leaves behind a legacy that will continue through the generations that follow him.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Barbara Patricia Lamar; daughter, Courtney Byrd; and grandson, Kendall Blake Byrd.

Kenneth is also survived by his children from his first marriage to Carol P. Lamar-Lyons: Kenneth G. Lamar, Jr., father of Heaven Cooley, Kaylie G. Lamar, and Karlie J. Lamar; David M. Lamar and his wife, Khaliah Lamar, parents of Kayla Calloway and Furious Thomas; and Jeffrey O. Lamar and his wife, Rita Lamar, parents of Lennox H. Lamar, Jackson C. Lamar, and Jamison R. Lamar.

He is further survived by his siblings, Horace "Skip" Lamar, Essie V. Baker (John, deceased), Sandra Lamar (Earl B. Lamar, deceased), Clarence Richardson (Ida), T.C. Lamar (Renee), Latishia Rogers (lohn), and Tarica Lamar (Jeff Tait, deceased). He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Kenneth will be remembered for his love of family, his enduring spirit, and the many lives he touched throughout his journey. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. 

Memorial service will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026 ~ 11:00am at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104.
