WASSERMAN, Kathryn "Kitty" Conley a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Sunday, April 09, 2023 at her residence. With deep sorrow and bittersweet sadness, the Wasserman and Robinson families announce the passing of Kathryn “Kitty” Conley Wasserman, a beautiful, strong, compassionate, caring and truly extraordinary woman who dedicated her time and talents to enriching the lives of others. Born in Montgomery on June 11, 1947 to parents Lawrence and Mable Robinson, Kitty decided to make Montgomery the place where she raised her own family, and built a career in real estate, where she could help others settle down in the city she loved.
As the owner and broker of Capital Realty Group River Region, she knew the importance of hard work and dedication. She thrived knowing she could help her clients find the right property, and served the community with such zeal and passion that clients instantly loved her, and ultimately considered her a dear friend. Even during the difficult chemotherapy treatments, she continued to work for her clients- she was always available by phone, even when she couldn’t physically make it to the office. Her work in real estate became more fulfilling when her husband Jeff, and her son Zach joined the team. But it was always Kitty who ran the show, even through her battle with cancer, and they knew it…and loved her even more for her tenacity.
In addition to her work in real estate, Kitty was a talented artist and Instagram “influencer”. Her Instagram, “KittyWass - Style Over 70”, gave thousands of women of all ages, confidence and inspiration for style and fashion. Kitty touched many lives and made many friends all over the world through her Instagram account. Most recently, Kitty was inducted into the Robert E. Lee High School Hall of Fame, an honor she was extremely proud of.
But Kitty’s most prized possessions were her family and friends. She made all who knew her feel like they were family. Friends always had an open invitation during holidays and other family gatherings, and Kitty greeted all with a warm and beautiful smile. Her loss is suffered by many, and most intensely by her family, who cherished her deeply.
Known as “momma” or “Bubbe” to family, she is survived by her best friend, confidant, and ultimately her caretaker husband of nearly 41 years, Jeff; three beloved children: Jay Gordon Wasserman, Suzanna Conley Wasserman Edwards (Brian), and Zachary Davis Wasserman; two grandchildren, Anderson James (AJ) and Jackson Rhodes, her three brothers: Rob Robinson, Mark Robinson, and Mike Robinson, whom she loved dearly; countless family members; and close friends she considered “family” who there with her on her last day, Saturday, April 8. At age 75, Kitty died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family after her courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Kitty’s beautiful spirit touched so many, and her smile lit every room. She will live on in our hearts forever.
