PERKINS, John Albert was born on April 30, 1939, in Deatsville, Alabama, to the late Brathen and Emma Wright-Perkins.
John later moved to Montgomery, Alabama, where he began a long and dedicated career as a chef at Maxwell Air Force Base, faithfully serving for more than 30 years.
He was a loving and devoted husband to the late Pastor Easter Mae Perkins. They shared 48 beautiful years of marriage until her passing.
On November 28, 2025, the Lord called John home to eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brathen and Emma Wright-Perkins; his beloved wife, Pastor Easter Mae Perkins; his sons, Ricky and Michael; his sisters, Beatrice, Marie, Carolyn, Betty, and Sarah; his brothers, Raymond, Dewey, Thomas, and Hubert; and his granddaughters, LaCynthia and ArKeisha.
John leaves to cherish his precious memories one daughter, Debra Felder and one Goddaughter, Patricia Underwood; one brother, Morris Perkins (Mae Nell); one sister, Ethel Davis; and sister-in law, Gladys Copeland.
He is also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Lashanda Moorer (Jeffrey), Dewayne Perkins, Keisha Wright, Sanquita Brisker, Rodrica Brisker (Lawana), Brook Moore, Edmund Moore, Ebony Moore, Deandre Moore, Veronica Cage, and Darryl Towns.
John’s memory will continue through his devoted friend Laura Arrington; a host of great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will forever hold his warmth, laughter, and love in their hearts.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 06, 2025 ~ 11:00am at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street. Montgomery, Alabama 36104.
