It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Randolf Britt (Randy), a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who entered eternal rest at his home on September 27th, 2025, at the age of 71.
Born the youngest of three, on October 17th, 1953, to Robert and Hilda Britt in Washington D.C., Randy’s life was the epitome of selflessness, love and devotion. He spent 48 years as a dedicated and loving husband to his wife, Catherine, creating a lifetime of cherished memories and unwavering commitment.
Randy was the proud father of two sons, Jeremy and Heath, whom he taught wisdom, generosity and kindness by his own life’s steadfast example. He was also “Pop pop”, to his four grandchildren, Elijah, Gabriel, William, and Julia and two great-grandchildren, Mack and Oliver; and found the greatest of joys and happiness in every occasion he was able to spend with them.
In his professional life, Randy worked as a Master Electrician and Foreman at numerous large-scale construction and energy companies across the United States. A career spanning 20 plus years, where he was known for his competence, strong work ethic, and ability to lead multi-national teams of diverse backgrounds and skillsets. After retiring, he would spend his remaining years, ardently watching Washington Redskins and Alabama football, and daily and selflessly prioritizing the needs of his wife, family, and all those blessed to know him and be in his presence.
Randy is profoundly missed by his family and many friends, but his legacy of love, strength, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
