Jesse Bailey, Sr.

Jesse Thomas Bailey Sr. was born June 5, 1954, and passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Jesse lived life his way—loud, honest, and never boring. He loved a good time, a good story, and a long conversation, especially if it involved the news, politics, or a little bit of well-placed gossip. If you ever sat down with Jesse, chances are you didn’t get up quickly. He had plenty to say, and he was going to make sure you heard it.

 He was known for being rough around the edges, a little gruff at times, and never one to sugarcoat much, but that was only part of the story. The rest of the story was a man with a big heart who loved his family, even if he did have his own way of showing it. But those who knew him and loved him, understood it.

 Jesse leaves behind his children, Michelle Rodriguez (DJ), Jesse Bailey Jr. and Sumer Bailey; his brother, Frisco Bailey; his sister, Bonnie Bailey Coley and his lifelong friend, Ricky Jarvis. 

 He was a beloved grandfather to Justin and Brooke Blair; Brittany and William Hunter Mills Sr.; Kendall Bailey; Braxton Bailey; Amirah Rodriguez; Lily, CJ, Cristian, and Cody Quijada; and Jordan and Isaiah Aguirre. 

 He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Madi Rae Blair, William Hunter Mills Jr. (Liam) and Noah Anthony Mills.

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Eunice Blackman and Bill Bailey, and his late son, Justin LaRue.

Jesse will be remembered for his strong opinions, his big personality, his willingness to help his family, and his ability to talk your ear off if you gave him the chance. He made an impression wherever he went and he wouldn’t have had it any other way.
