MYERS, Jerry Lynn,  It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jerry Lynn Myers, who left us peacefully on February 27th, 2024 with family by his side. Born on September 24th, 1944 in Montgomery, AL and raised in the coal mining camps of Virginia, Jerry’s vibrant spirit and kind heart touched many lives during his remarkable journey of 79 years. Jerry was loved dearly by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jerry was a cherished member of the Pike Road community, where his generosity, warmth, quick witted humor, and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew him. His dedication to his family, friends, and community set a shining example of compassion that will be remembered by many.

A service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm with the service to follow at 2:00 pm at Church of the Highlands, located at 4255 Taylor Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36116, officiated by Pastor Chris Erwin. Following the service, Jerry will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery located at 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109 following the service. Pallbearers will be his 9 grandsons and grandson-in-law.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 23 years, Mary Corwin Myers; children, Jeff Myers, Justin Myers, Heath Corwin (Amy), Rocky Vaughn Corwin II (Michelle), Rebekah Singleton (Ace), Rachel Erwin (Chris); grandchildren, Ashley Sciachitano (Nick), Brandon Sanborn, Hunter Corwin (Sarah), Parker Corwin, Dawson Corwin, Bishop Singleton, Amianna Corwin, Leyton Erwin, Acelynn Singleton, Tanner Corwin, Liam Erwin and Kellan Corwin; great-grandchildren, Ava Walters, Lilliana Sciachitano, Nico Sciachitano, Vaughn Corwin, Bruce Corwin; sisters, Sandra Geer, Joanne Gansberg (Carl), Anne Brabham, his beloved Mother in Law; Brother and Sister In Laws, Beverly, Bill, Bob, Betsy, and Dixie and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Totsie Myers; brother, Terry Myers; beloved Aunt and Uncle, Harvey and Beulah Gilmer; Brother in Law, Doran Geer and Nephew, Doran Geer Jr.

Jerry leaves behind a legacy of love and a void that will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate to know him. As we bid farewell to a truly remarkable man, we find comfort in our cherished memories and the indelible mark he left on our hearts.

Funeral service will be Monday, March 04, 2024 - 2:00pm at Church of the Highlands, 4255  Taylor Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36116. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, 909 Lincoln Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36109.  Visitation will be Monday, March 04, 2024 - 12:30pm to 2:00pm at Church of the Highland.
