We are celebrating the life of James Edward Meeks. He was born to Eugene and Eloise (Tidwell) Meeks on July 27, 1948. James was a Prattville native and never met a stranger. He was a loving brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. If you knew James, you knew of his love for his Savior, motorcycles, cars, and laughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Eloise Meeks; his first wife and mother of his children, Nancy Jones Meeks; sisters Linda Dale Blackmon, Robbie Jean Meeks, and his brother Horace Meeks.

James leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 24 years, Carol Mann Meeks; his sisters Gloria V. Alford and Diane Reddish; his children, Mike (Michelle) Meeks, Melanie (Mike) Whetstone, and Melissa (Steve) Barber, Stephanie (Darryl) Anderson and Jeff Jones. His grandchildren Brittany (Zach) McCaskey, Hunter (Emily) Meeks, James Tyler (Taylor) Whetstone, Brittany Armstrong, Melissa (Derrek) Simpson, Megan (D.J.) Arnette, Kristen (Robert) Smith, Nancy (Brian) Rayburn, River Barber, Lake Barber, Molli (Cliff) Rich, MaKayla Logan, and Alexius Anderson. Along with many great-grandchildren that “Pop” loved dearly as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Prattville First Methodist Church, 104 E 4th Street, Prattville, AL. on Saturday, May 10th, at 2:00pm officiated by Rev. Larry Patton. A reception with the family and friends will follow the service in the fellowship hall.
