James Lee Connell

It is with deep sadness that the family of James Lee Connell, “Jim”, 79, announces his peaceful passing May 18th, 2023, at home in Montgomery, surrounded by his loving wife, Sharon and family.

    He is survived by his wife, Sharon Coleman Connell, Mother: Jewell Caton Headley; Children: Anthony Connell ( Julie), Angella Connell Jeansonne, (Brent), Jamie Connell Walker (Justin), Kristen Connell Smyth, (Josh); Sister, Rena Headley Willis; Grandchildren: Jenna Connell, Tabitha Strength, Allie Turner, (Devin Turner), Garrett Strength; Geoffry Alan  Gothard Jr., Ava Grace Gothard, and James Alexander Gothard, (Haylie); Carli Rhea Smyth, Elijah Kane Smyth, Jack Lee Walker; Great grandchildren: Ella, Cynthia, Bryant, & Jenson & many nieces and nephews. Jim was Preceded in death by his father, Leonard Connell (Jean), and sister Sue Gay (Steve).

  Jim was born November 29, 1943, in Clanton, Alabama to Jewell Caton Connell and Leonard Connell. Jim was a man with many talents. His children and grandchildren share his intelligence, creativity, and musical talent.

  Jim loved being on the water and working on his boats. He also enjoyed designing and building his family beach home in Blue Mountain Beach, Florida, where the family spent many happy days being “locals”.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023 - 1:30pm at Frazer Church, 6000 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama, 36117.
