Helen Bethene Pfeifer, a devoted homemaker and beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on June 19, 1943, to Forrest M. Hill and Viola Marie Tracy, Helen lived a life marked by deep love for her family, unwavering faith, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew her.
Helen’s life was centered around her home and family, where she poured her heart into caring for her loved ones, and creating a warm and welcoming place for all who entered. Her nurturing spirit, kind heart, and boundless generosity will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas A. Pfeifer, who was her steadfast partner and companion for nearly 42 years. Helen leaves behind her cherished children: Louise A. Derry, Curtis L. Derry, Jason W. Derry & Pamela J. Ruge of whom carry forward her legacy of compassion and resilience.
She was a proud and loving grandmother, with a special bond to her grandchildren Jamia Felder and Jadaisha Akins, and her great-grandchildren Kahlia Felder and Aria Felder, who brought her immeasurable joy. In addition to them, Helen is survived by her sisters: Norma, Linda and Lois and a host of other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she missed and loved dearly.
Helen’s warmth, laughter, and enduring love will forever remain in the hearts of those who truly knew and loved her.
A private family service will be held to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that acts of kindness be shared in Helen’s memory, a fitting tribute to a life so beautifully lived.
