Gerene Rush

 RUSH, Gerene Henley age 73, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 51+ years, Johnny Edward Rush, her daughter Heather Rush Pierce (Donald), her mother Jo Ann Henley, and her brother Earl Hoyt Henley Jr. (Ruby). She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren William Scho “Will” Sellers (Graci), Payton Henley Pierce Foley (Jesse), Emilee Rae “Emmy” Pierce, and her great-grandchildren Rhodes Ocie Foley, Pierce Oakleigh Foley, and due in July Rush Alexander Sellers. Gerene is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Gerene was preceded in death by her father Earl Hoyt Henley Sr., her sisters Kemberly Henley “Kem” Holley and Charlotte Henley Miller, and her nephew Earl Hoyt “Tripp” Henley III. Gerene was retired from Montgomery Public Schools where she served as an elementary school teacher for many years.

A graveside funeral service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery at 3:00pm on Monday, April 29, 2024, officiated by her loving husband Johnny Rush. Visitation will be held at the graveside starting at 2:00pm.
