GEORGE DAVID TUCKER, HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, AND NAVY VETERAN

MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA – George David Tucker, Senior Chief Petty Officer CSPO USN Retired, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully at age 84 on Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Montgomery, Alabama with his family by his side. David was born on August 10, 1938, the son of James and Annie (née MacRae) Tucker. David’s 30 years of military service in the United States Navy started in San Diego, California in 1955 at age 17, and included duty stations in Norfolk, Virginia (FASRON 3), Pensacola, Florida (Corry Field), Norfolk, Virginia (VP-44), Bermuda,

British Overseas Territory (VP-45), Pensacola, Florida (Ellyson Field), the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42, Vietnam), the USS Independence (catapult chief), and the USS Guadalcanal (air department leading chief). David is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Valery (née Cox), his daughter Janice and son-in-law Darren Lyn, and his granddaughters Taylor and Kacey Lyn.
