Gary Lee Knox, a long-time resident of New Orleans, La and recently of Montgomery, Alabama passed away peacefully at Diversicare of Montgomery on February 13, 2025. Mr. Gary was born on September 21, 1946 in New Orleans, La. He is preceded in death by his father James Knox Sr., mother Rugenia Victoria Weeden, and grandmother Nancy Lela Scott. Mr. Gary is also preceded in death by his best friend of many years, Frazie Hall, Jr “Papa Zeke”.
He is survived by his sisters Karen Lee (James) Smith, Lynn Brooks, and Annise Penny; a son and 3 grandchildren. He is also survived by his extended family of: Cassandra Hall, Hazel O. Howard, Jomika West, siblings and cousins. Mr. Gary will also leave behind his newfound friends: Lloyd & Janet Preston and Lillie Knight, who readily talked to and read the bible with him about the resurrection hope and the hope of everlasting life in a paradise new earth without ever dying again found at ; John 5: 28,29 and Revelation 21:3,4 .
