Eveline Redwine Obituary

Eveline Veronika Redwine of Wetumpka, AL, passed away peacefully in her home on December 22, 2025. She was born to her parents, Hans and Dorothea Grittner, in Hindenburg, Germany, on August 21, 1942. She was raised by her grandparents, Josef and Veronika Hadraschek in war-torn Germany. Eveline moved to the U.S. with her mother when she was sixteen years old, finishing her High School education in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She returned to Germany and worked briefly as a secretary for an army post. She returned to the states once more, and entered the retail world, married, and started her family. She raised her family mostly in Missouri, where she worked at Montgomery Ward’s. Once her children were grown, she worked as the parish secretary for St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Joplin, MO, for a few years. After she left St. Mary’s she began her own doggie daycare, training, and grooming service called KLOUD K-9. She was very proud of her German Shepherd dogs, who held many obedience and agility titles.

She moved to Wetumpka, AL, in 2015 and became a parishioner at St. Bede Catholic Church, where she served as a lector and Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister.  She was an active member of the church’s seniors social club, Jarrow. She volunteered at the Montgomery Cancer Center for almost seven years.

Eveline is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years, Harold Redwine; her father, Hans Grittner; her mother, Dorothea (Hadraschek) Dodson; her stepfather Doyle Dodson; her grandparents, Josef and Veronika (Musiol) Hadraschek; her sister, Sonja (Dodson) DeBord; and her step-grandsons Bryce Redwine and Trevor Serjeant. She is survived by her son Arthur Redwine and his wife Retha; daughter Cathleen (Redwine) Klusek and her husband Todd; step-daughter Vanessa (Redwine) Wilburn and her husband Mart; step-son Kirk Redwine and his wife Stephanie; her brother Doyle “Seppi” Dodson Jr. and his wife Tina; cousin Hanne Solik in Poland; and grandchildren Amber Redwine, Bryce Klusek, Noah Klusek, Nicholas Redwine, Garrett Redwine, Amanda Easter, Jordan Elam, Peyton Redwine, and Blake Redwine.
