Edgar Greenwood, Jr.

Edgar Greenwood, Jr. was born December 4th, 1941, in Montgomery, Alabama to Edgar Greenwood, Sr. & Mamie Scott Greenwood. He entered eternal rest on October 11,2023 at Hillview Terrace Healthcare Center.

He confessed Christ at an early age at Hale Street Baptist Church. He was employed with the Montgomery Sanitation Department for over 20 years. Also, he was employed with Goodwill Industries of Central Alabama until his health failed.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar Greenwood, Sr. & Mamie Scott Greenwood; one brother, Walter Scott; two sisters, Verdell Greenwood and Barbara J. Scott.

Memories will be forever cherished by his devoted wife of 43 years, Joanne Greenwood (Montgomery); two daughters, Patricia Greenwood Wilson (Tennessee) & Patricia (Samford) Gaylord (Maryland); grandchildren, Lashonda Wilson (Washington D.C.), James (Leslie) Sanderfield (Tennessee), Kevin Wilson (Tennessee), Kazon (Enallia) Wilson (Texas), and Joniyah Varner (Tennessee); great grandchildren, Tristin Wilson, Kamira Wilson, Kinsley Wilson, Reuben Wilson, Sariah Sanderfield, and Samera Sanderfield.

Also, he is survived by one sister, Mildred McFadden (Connecticut); one brother, Moses (Eddie) Scott (Montgomery); sister-in-law, Ella Wilson (Washington D.C.); one cousin, Theresia Mitchell (Montgomery); devoted nephew, Charles Henderson and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Graveside service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 - 11:00am, Oakwood Annex Cemetery, 1305 Upper Wetumpka Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36107.  A public visitation will be held Friday, October 20, 2023, 8am to 6pm, Magnolia Cremations & Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama, 36104.
