Donald E Clements, Jr., of Montgomery AL, passed away on March 20, 2026, just shy of his 87th birthday. Don was born on April 21, 1939 in Mobile, AL and was the son of the late Maude Lee Clements and Donald E. Clements. In addition to his parents, Don was also preceded in death by wives, Suzanne Clements and Bonnie Clements, his son, Joseph Clements, and five sisters, Martha Sanders, Alma Jean Malone, Donna (Bootsie) Howle, Ginger Mumme, and Maudie Finlay.
As a young man, Don fell in love with and married Suzanne Edwards in 1959. They had two beloved children together, Joseph and Jennifer. Don and Sue enjoyed bowling together and both won trophies for the sport. They also attended many large family gatherings with great food, company, and horseshoe games. Sadly, Sue passed away, far too young, in 1972. In 1979, Don found true love again and married Bonnie Pratt, who was a wonderful second mother to his children. They enjoyed 46 happy years together, until Bonnie’s death in late 2025.
Don enjoyed fishing, and was featured in newspaper stories for catching large fish and winning fishing tournaments. He worked in the Air Force Civilian Service doing computer programming for many years in the early days of computer technology, retiring at age 55. Don enjoyed over 30 years of retirement, and he and Bonnie traveled extensively on road trips for many years, seeing lots of interesting sights throughout the country and visiting family members in Mobile, Alabama.
Don will be grieved by his brother, David Clements (Barbara), daughter, Jennifer Graves (Seth), and granddaughter, Lauren Clements. He also will be missed by a large number of nieces, nephews, and other family members. Family was what mattered most to Don and he cherished his family connections.
There will not be a formal service, but the family encourages friends and family to celebrate the life of Don by remembering the good times spent with him.
