Dempery Axel Haley

HALEY, Dempery Axel was born on June 14, 1948, in St. Clair, Alabama to the late Minnie Axel. Dempery departed this life the evening of March 21, 2024.

As a young girl, she dedicated her life to God and became a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in St. Clair, Alabama. On December 9, 1967, she married Jimmie D Haley, Sr.  From this union Dempery and Jimmie gave birth to 5 children. Dempery became a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked for John Knox Manor until 2005.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmie D Haley, Sr., son Jimmie D. Haley Jr. and grandson, Jimmie D. Haley III.  Seven brothers: David Axel, George Axel, Henry Axel, Bill Axel, Neil Axel, Bob Roberts and Charlie Wiley. Three sisters: Della Greer, Alice Mae Rawlings, and Johnnie Mae Grimes.

She leaves to cherish three daughters and a son: Wanda (Eric) Graves of Atlanta, GA, Linda (Eddie) Hinson, Lisa (Terrall) Hart, and Jamie (Kierra) Haley all of Montgomery, AL. Seven grandchildren: Kiara Jackson, Dominique Haley, Clydrecus Patman, Devin (Danielle) Hinson, Edwin Hinson, Dempery Hinson-Gresham, and Tierra (Jaron) Davis. Thirteen great grandchildren: Nykerria Jackson, Keniyah Sanders, De’Shaundra Sanders, Cortashia Sanders, Kendrick Sanders, Kentavia Sanders, Jaron Davis Jr., Dyshaunna Hinson, Dionna Hinson, Jamari Davis, Rayden King, RayShawn King and ReyUnna King. Five sisters: Minnie Axel Queener, Rosia Mason, Elizabeth Roberts, Mary Davis, and Jacqueline Roberts-Hall. Three brothers: Monroe Roberts, James Roberts and Albert Roberts. She also leaves to cherish a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends especially a faithful friend/sister, Mary Harris.

Funeral service will be Saturday, March 30, 2024 - 11:00am at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services Chapel, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104.  Visitation will be Friday, March 29, 2024 at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services Chapel 8:30am to 6:00pm.
