Obituary
David L. Swesey, age 73 of Tallassee, Alabama passed away on Saturday August 5th 2023 at Baptist Medical Center South Montgomery, Alabama after a short battle with cancer. David was born January 6, 1950 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Kenneth L. and Lorena M. Swesey. Army Veteran with service in Vietnam from 1971-1975.
David worked for many years as a mechanic in Tallassee, Alabama. David was married to Lind J Fields for 33 years until her death in 2009. David enjoyed fishing and camping with his family.
Survivors include his sister Helen Swesey Rothell of Rainsville, Alabama. Nieces, Flora Cronick (Eric) of Missouri, MaryBeth VanGruesven (Jerry) of Florida, Sheila Jones (Rob) of Tennessee, Nephews, John Swesey of Missouri, James Swesey of Kansas, Charles Swesey of Wisconsin, Michael Swesey (Jennie) of Arizona. Scott and David Fields of Alabama.
Great nieces (Little Bit) Jennifer Leann Wilson of Alabama, Jenna VanGruesven of Florida.
Great nephews, Samuel Nelson of Georgia, Seth Swesey of Arizona, Taylor Jones of Tennessee, Dillon Jones of Tennessee.
David will be greatly missed by his family friends. With every teehee and a snicker our hearts think of you!
David was proceeded in death by his wife Linda, Father Kenneth (Bud) Sr., Mother Lorena, Brother Kenneth (Buddy) Jr., Niece Cheryl Wilson Nelson.
Arrangements by Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services Montgomery, Alabama. David will be laid to rest in Parkersburg West Virginia alongside his family.
