David Marz

David Marz, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 21, 2022 at home. Born in Canton, Ohio, January 9, 1932, he graduated from Lehman High School Class of 1950, The Ohio State University in 1954 (BS Education)and 1970 (MA Education). David was a retired officer of the US Air Force, living in Montgomery, AL. He served as a navigator in the Strategic Air Command and Forward Air Control in Vietnam. He retired after teaching at the Academic Instructor and Allied Officers School at Maxwell AFB. He was an avid fan of Ohio State football and NASCAR racing. David was an ardent world traveler, enjoyed woodworking and do-it-yourself home projects. He is survived by his wife LuAnn Marz, his two children Janet Morrison of Kilgore, TX and Steven Marz of Huntsville, AL, three grandchildren- Stefanie, Christie, and Jeffrey, and eight great-grandchildren- Haylee, Kenny, Kyleigh, Chloe, Carly, William, Jacob, and Keira. David was preceded in death by parents Eldon and Anebel Marz and wife Patricia Marz the mother of his two children. A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Friday, October 28, Messiah Lutheran Church, Montgomery, AL.https://messiahlutheranmgm.org/ David was a long-time supporter of our troops via the USO (United Service Organizations).
