David Lamar Comer

COMER, David Lamar a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Friday, June 14, 2024 in Lowndes County, Alabama.  

David Lamar Comer was born on April 10, 1988, in Montgomery, Alabama, to Dave Tyson and Wanda Comer.  He departed this life on June 14, 2024.

 He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Jericho A. M. E. Zion Church, under the leadership of Rev. George J. Garrison. David attended Carter High School and later received his GED.  David loved repairing mechanical “stuff” and was employed with Hyundai.

 Preceding him in death was his stepmother, Linda Tyson; great-grandmother, Annie K. Smith; and a devoted aunt, Valeria Smith.

 He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory a wife, Tonja Comer, and their children, David Jr., Davionna, and Daveigh Comer; father, Dave Tyson; mother, Wanda Comer; loving and devoted grandparents, Morris Jr. and Edna Mae Smith; sister, Patrice Comer; step-sisters, Latoya, Sandra and Noelle Shepherd, Tamika (David) Green; step-brothers, Jermaine Burnett and  Izell Nathan; a host of devoted  uncles and  aunts to include Namon and Pamela Williams; a host of loving cousins, including a childhood cousin who was like a brother, Terrence Smith; devoted cousins Deran Stinson, Travis Smith, Damien Williams and DaVontay Smith; dedicated friends Wayne Caldwell, Demarkys Knight, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 - 1:00pm at Jericho AME Zion Church, 5251 Hobbie Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36105.  Burial will follow at Kindle Cemetery, Ashley Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36108.  Visitation will be Friday, June 28, 2024 8:30am to 6:00pm at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104.
