David Bennett Obituary

BENNETT, David K., Age 77, a resident of Prattville, AL, passed away on June 14, 2023. Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be dearly missed. He was born on January 17, 1946, and adopted to Edward V. Bennett and Ellen M. (Boland) Bennett of Oak Park, IL. Dave attended the Oak Park, IL school system and graduated from Oak Park/River Forest High School in May 1964. He joined the United States Air Force in July 1964. He retired from the USAF in May 1992 as a Master Sergeant (E7). During his active duty he traveled to Japan, Turkey, Germany and numerous state-side bases in Michigan, California, Montana, and Alabama to fulfill his active-duty requirements.  He worked as a contractor for the government accounting systems from June 1992 until February 2013 when he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wonderful wife Helen Bennett of almost 24 years.

Dave leaves behind to cherish his memories, five step children: Lena (Todd) Loeffler of Williamston, MI; David (Stacey) Kubik of Melbourne, FL; Steven (Angie) Kubik of Evans, GA; Mary Fritz of Prattville, AL; and William Kubik of Hampstead, NC – 12 grandchildren: Kayla (Joe) Shaffer, David "DJ" Kubik, Derek Traster, Stasha Ashbrook, Kristina Loeffler, Austin Kubik, Alexandra Cook, Samantha (Jonathan) Huff, Darian (Ethan) Magiera, Will Kubik, Elisabeth Kubik, and Carolynne Kubik – 11 great-grandchildren: Evan, Joshua, Matthew, Dylan, Daniel, Nathan, Nora, Nylah, Lindsay, Jace, and Isabella. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law: Bobbie (Dennis) Holt of Corbin, KY and Billy (Patty) Wright of Eastpointe, MI and numerous nieces and nephews (and great-nieces and great-nephews) as well as many friends.

A private family memorial will be celebrated. The family is grateful for your condolences.
