Daniel H. Luehrs, age 70, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on July 13th, 2025. Daniel Herbert Luehrs was born on November 23rd, 1954, to Eleanor Mae Bower and Howard Herbert Luehrs. Dan grew up mostly in New Jersey with his beloved siblings, Denise, Debbie, and Howard. He graduated from Rutgers with a degree in ceramic engineering and later received an MBA from the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga.
During his undergrad at Rutgers, Dan met Penny. They were married in Ohio and later lived in Tennessee and Wisconsin, where their son Danny was born, before moving to Montgomery. During his adult years, Dan was an avid swimmer, biker, and eventually photographer.
He enjoyed a career working with several appliance manufacturers and ultimately moved into senior management, holding the positions of Vice President at Speed Queen and Rheem Manufacturing.
Dan and Carol married in August of 2013 and shared several years in retirement traveling the world, spending time at the beach and the lake, and showering their grandchildren with love.
Dan was a true servant leader and mentor, influencing the lives of all he touched. Preceding Dan is death is his wife, Penny; his father, Howard; his mother, Eleanor; his brother, Howard; and his brother-in-law, Al.
Dan is survived by his son, Danny (Val); his wife, Carol; his sisters, Denise (Al) and Debbie (Michael); his stepdaughters, Megan (Joseph) and Jenna; his grandchildren, Kathleen, Thomas, and James; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dan’s name can be made to St. Vincent de Paul at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Montgomery, AL.
