Capistran, Dr. Dallas Lawrence DC, 73, a current resident of Wetumpka AL, passed away on 21 Sept 2023 after an extended period of illness.
Dallas was born on 31 December 1949 to Lawrence and Virginia Capistran in Luverne MN. The family moved to Montgomery, AL in the early 50s where Dallas grew up. After graduating from High School, Dallas entered Palmer College of Chiropractic
After graduating with a degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic, he was board-certified and began his practice in Montgomery in 1977. Dallas continued his practice until his retirement. His practice and passion for helping others shaped his adult life.
In 1994, Dallas met his future wife Debra Fuller Capistran, his match in life. They were passionately married for 26 years. “You Are the Love of My Life” was their song. They loved spending time together with their families. They traveled, entertained their many friends and acquaintances, and savored life to its fullest. Their family, friends, the water and food were like magnets throughout their life together. An inveterate tinkerer, Dallas kept busy with many projects from home to cars, to motorcycles, boats, and the pool.
Dallas was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Virginia. He is survived by his wife Debra, daughter Tiffany Capistran and her mother Debra Schwener Capistran, Cade and his wife Kelly Gunnells, Megin and her husband James Payton. He was called Gandy by his grand children Jacob and his wife Lillian McClellan, Allison (Alli) McClellan and Clark and Carter Gunnells.
A memorial wake will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Alabama/American Heart Foundation, a cause he felt worthy.
