Cohen Thomas Luker III, 72, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 31st, 2024. He was born in Talladega, Alabama, on February 20th, 1952, to Ruth G. Luker and Cohen Thomas Luker II, both of whom predeceased him. He was also the beloved brother of Peggy L. McFaden (Dr. Gavin McFaden).
A proud graduate of the University of Alabama, Tom was an active member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity. His love for the university and its football team remained a constant throughout his life, and he shared that passion with everyone around him.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; his daughter Alicia Luker; his son Joseph Luker and his wife Nadia; and his son Jacob Luker and his wife Brianna. He was a devoted “Poppy” to his five grandchildren: Savanah Luker, Alexander Luker, Mila Luker, Eleanor Luker, and Leo Luker. Tom is also remembered by his nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Throughout his life, Tom was known for his kindness, generosity, and positivity. He had a special ability to encourage others, and his warm, friendly nature meant that he never met a stranger. Whether sharing his love for animals, his family, or his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, Tom’s enthusiasm and positive outlook on life touched everyone he met. He made people feel valued and appreciated.
Tom lived in New Jersey and Connecticut for many years, where he built a lasting legacy of compassion and support for family and friends. His kindness and genuine interest in others left a profound impact on all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at Magnolia Cremations and Funeral Services on Friday, January 3rd, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The funeral home is located at 901 S McDonough St., Montgomery, AL 36104. Tom’s life will be celebrated and remembered by all who loved him. His warmth, love, and positivity will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
