Charles Edward Montgomery

MONTGOMERY, Charles Edward  passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 3:13 a.m., at the age of 64.  He was born on October 29, 1959, to the union of the late Henry Ed Montgomery and Emma Louise Lee.

 Charles was educated in the New Orleans Public School system. He graduated from Marion Abramson Senior High School.  Charles worked with his father and brothers as a cement finisher.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. & Mrs. Henry E. Montgomery; two brothers, Henry, Jr., and Woodrow Montgomery; and one sister, Sandra Montgomery.

 He leaves to cherish his memory four sisters, Betty Sissy (Merlin, Sr.) DeGruy, Betty Jo (Albee) Lewis, Jr., Renada & Keyona Forman; one brother, Terrance Forman; step-mother, Justina Forman Montgomery; one son, Charles “Tokey” Montgomery; devoted friend and confidant, Cheryl Montgomery; one God-daughter, Tanaesha “Me-Me” Balthazar; and lifetime friend, Derrick Brock.

 Charles was a shining light in the lives of his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

 The family would like to express our sincere thanks to you all for your kind expressions of sympathy, prayers, and visits during this very difficult time.  We’d like to thank Rozetta Roberts of Senior Services; and Ginger, Sheila, Shemirra, Netra and Pastor Davis Peebles of Hospice of Montgomery for their hard work and support. 

 The family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has shown their love, understanding and support during our time of need. We pray that Father God continues to bless and keep each and every one of you.
