ANTHONY, Charles a resident of Montgomery, Alabama passed away Thursday, June 19, 2025 at his residence. Charles Anthony was born May 29, 1948, in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Mrs. Laurana Brown Anthony and Mr. Laconia Anthony. Charles also known as Butch by close friends and family, was the “baby” of three children born into this union. He attended Booker T. Washington in Montgomery, prior to embarking on a life as a hard-working cattleman, a profession that reflected his deep connection to the land, animals, and a life of integrity.
Charles passed away unexpectedly on June 19th, 2025; he will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Charles is survived by his beloved spouse, Margaret. Their bond grew through the years, and on May 24th, 2013, they were united in holy matrimony. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, companionship, and unwavering support for one another.
Charles was also the loving parent of Renard (Cheryl) Anthony, David Anthony, and Joyel (Mario) Burrowes of his marriage to Jonnie M. Anthony. Though this relationship wasn't permanent, they remained cordial as they co-parented with their children.
Charles was preceded in death by his beloved sisters Mrs. Minnie Lee Robinson and Mrs. Lizzie Anthony Calhoun, nephews Mr. Lawrence Calhoun and Mr. Timothy Robinson Sr., stepsons Mr. Cedric Roberson, Mr. Anil Roberson, and Mr. Thomas Roberson; all of Montgomery, AL.
Charles leaves to cherish his memory, sons David and Renard (Cheryl), daughter Joyelle (Mario), stepdaughter Shantell, stepsons Bernard (Nyleciya), Demerico, and Xzavius. He leaves many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends.
Charles will be remembered for his easy spirit, humor, kind spirit and steady presence, he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
