Carol L. Christie

SFC (Ret). Carol Laverne Radney Christie was born on May 14,1966 to late Lillie and Willie Sanders in Columbus, Ga. Carol proudly served 28 years in the U.S. Army, Throughout her military career she showed exemplary strength. discipline, and leadership. After retiring from the Army, Carol continued her life of service by faithfully volunteering with the American Red Cross where she had many laughs and rewarding moments. She joined and became a faithful member of Mt Gillard Missionary Baptist Church.

Carol was a proud graduate of George Washington Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia, Class of 1984. She furthered her education at Grantham University, where she earned both her Associate and Bachelor’s Degrees, demonstrating her lifelong commitment to growth and achievement.

Carol leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughter, CaTera Marshae Christie, and her beautiful granddaughter, Ca ’Lani Noelle Christie, who brought her immeasurable joy. She is also survived by her devoted sisters: Sandra (Gene) Fluellen, Felicia Sanders, and her cherished Sisters in Love and in Christ, Shanae (Jerrode) Sparks, Richette Brison -Harris, Willie Mae Lambert, TaWanna (Chuck) Brooks, and Lola (Willie James) Mayes.

She will be lovingly remembered by her nephew Julian Collier and Caleb Robinson, and her niece, Teana Fluellen, along with several adopted children, Jessica, Sherell, Neka, LaQuesha, Amber, Keela and Brittany whom she embraced as her own. Carol’s life was also enriched by a wide circle of extended family and dear friends, Shannon, LaToyia and Taraka, all of whom were touched by her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love.

SFC (Ret.) Carol Laverne Christie will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother, a proud soldier, a servant leader, and a woman of deep faith and compassion. Her legacy of service, love, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 28, 2025, ~ 1:00pm at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services, 901 South McDonough Street, Montgomery, Alabama 36104.  Visitation will be Saturday, December 27, 2025, ~ 1:00pm to 5:00pm at Magnolia Cremations & Funeral Services.
