Bobby Bridges McLellan, 95, of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 09, 2026.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Roy McLellan and Charles McLellan. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Sylvia P. McLellan, son, David McLellan (Kim) their six children, fifteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, daughters, Kay Smith (Jay) their two children and three grandchildren, Jami Burns (Phil) their two children and Leslie Walker (Todd) and their four children.
Bob had many careers over the span of his life, he started out serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was an Alabama State Trooper with his brother, Roy McLellan and held several Sales Associate positions in multiple companies. His most rewarding and meaningful job was at Floyd Magnet School, he served as their School Resource Officer. He was affectionately known as "Officer Bob" to all of his beloved students. Those students made such an impact on his life and he on theirs. Whenever we happened to cross paths with a former student they were always thrilled to see "Officer Bob" no matter how many years had passed. He retired in 2018 after eighteen years of happily patrolling the hallways of Floyd Magnet School.
The family will hold a private ceremony at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
