Arthur Earl Morse, age 81, passed away peacefully at his home on May 18, 2026, with his loving wife of 30+ years by his side.
Born in New Jersey in 1944, Art pursued his higher education at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, graduating in 1968. Art began a distinguished engineering career that included work on the Alaska Oil Pipeline, contributing to one of the nation’s landmark infrastructure projects. During his career, Art earned his Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, a credential he proudly maintained throughout his professional life. His journey later led him into the paper mill industry, where he built a long and respected career as a Senior Project Engineer with Union Camp and later International Paper in Prattville, Alabama. In recognition of his dedication and contributions throughout his career, International Paper honored Art by naming a road on its campus, “Art’s Boulevard", which is utilized in its daily operations.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Art was a skilled carpenter who found great joy in working in his wood shop, building and creating with his hands. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, hiking, boating, and spending time on the Emerald Coast.
Art will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his craftsmanship, his love of the outdoors, and the many lives he profoundly touched throughout his journey.
