Arnold Louis Weinzirl, Dad/Grandpa/Arnold was born on 27 January 1932 in Herreid South Dakota. Arnold was one of eleven children born to Karl and Mary Weinzirl of Herreid South Dakota.

Arnold joined the United States Air Force in 1951. He served his country in the Air Force until 1971. Arnold’s Air Force Career included assignments at Erding Air Base Germany, Hof Air Station Germany, RAF Upper Heyford England, Sidi Slimane Air Base Morocco, Ellsworth Air Force Base South Dakota, Mountain Home Air Force Base Idaho, and George Air Force Base California. Arnold met Mary Grimes while stationed in England. They were Married in Oxford England on July 16,1958. After Arnolds time in the service was up the family retired to Dublin Ireland for one year. After their time in Ireland the family moved to Arnold’s home town of Herreid South Dakota. In Herreid Arnold worked several jobs including well drilling, construction, and Mechanic at Senftner Chevrolet in Herreid. Arnold was also the Owner and Operator of the Mobile Station in Herreid South Dakota. In 1975, at the invitation of some cousins, the family moved to Northern Minnesota to operate a Resort on Half Moon Lake. Arnold and Mary lived in Minnesota for the next 45 years. Arnold’s Wife Mary of 62 years passed away in 2020. Due to Arnold’s health he moved to Prattville Alabama in 2021 to live with family. Arnold lost a His long battle with Cancer on 23 April, 2023. Arnold was at home and with family at the time of his death.

Arnold was proceeded in death by his parents Karl and Mary (Stellflug) Weinzirl, His three brothers Joe (Ella Sayler), Alois (Mary Glatt), and Charles (Magdalena Grosz), six of his seven sisters Teresa (John) Weisbeck, Margaret (Bernard) Nelson, Gertrude (Wilbur) O’Meara, Mary Anne (Robert) Lindauere, Helen (Don) Wilmes, and his Great Grandson Kaylor Strickland.

Arnold is survived by His sister Elizabeth, His three sons Kyle (Minty) Weinzirl, Aaran (Peggy) Weinzirl, and Shea (Lora) Weinzirl, His Grandchildren Allison, Evan, Gretchen, Amanda (Jeffrey) Strickland, Michael, William, Brynn (John) Hammernick, Brian, Micah, Malachi, and Maryn. Great Grandchildren Piper, Milliana, Emmet, and Adalyn.
